Incentives & rebates
Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC)
30% federal tax credit on residential solar and battery storage systems through 2032. Applies to panels, inverters, batteries, and installation labor.
Successor Solar Incentive (SuSI / SREC-II)
New Jersey's successor program pays residential solar owners ongoing per-MWh incentives (administratively-set SREC-II / SREC registration program credits) for the solar energy their system produces, stacking on top of net-metering bill savings. Confirm the current credit value and registration window when applying.
Solar Sales & Property Tax Exemptions
New Jersey exempts solar energy systems from state sales tax and excludes the added home value of a residential solar system from property tax assessment.
Net metering: Full retail net metering
New Jersey provides full-retail net metering: excess solar exported to the grid is credited at the retail electricity rate and rolled forward, with annual reconciliation. Combined with the SuSI / SREC-II performance incentive, this gives New Jersey solar strong overall economics.
